Who is Jesus?
Lord over all creation and every person He is the One we will one day answer to for everything we did on this earth! He didn’t just give us a new way to live, He offers us a brand new life! If you want to know peace with God, it is only through His Son, Jesus Christ. If you want forgiveness for the sins that weigh you down with guilt, it is only through His Son, Jesus Christ. If you want to known the way to restore the broken relationship with YOUR Heavenly Father, it comes only through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Here is how to become a child of God
First, you need to KNOW these truths:
By birth and by choice, you are a sinner & live in a sinful world. Romans 3:23
God is holy & any sin is an offense against Him. Romans 3:10, 1 Peter 1:16
Sin makes you an enemy of God. Romans 5:10
Holiness requires justice – full payment for all sin. Romans 5:8
You are heading for an eternity without God because Sin is an incalculable debt, punishable by death. Romans 6:23
What a person does with these truths is completely subjective.
A person can mock them, belittle them, reject them, or embrace them. Our response to these truths will forever change our lives and our eternal future, but nothing will stop them from being true. Jesus promised to come back. When He does, He will gather those who belong to Him and take them to be with Him forever – no more pain, no more sorrow! But He will also come to judge those who have turned their backs on Him. The wrath of God is the punishment that God has promised will come to those who play games with these truths and remain His enemy by unbelief.
But, there is another truth. God loves you and does not want you to remain His enemy
THIS IS GOD’S MESSAGE TO EVERYONE
John 3:16 is God’s message to everyone who will listen. It is called the “gospel,” which means, “good news.” He offers forgiveness for your sin and the promise of life forever – but only His way. Not by good works, not by religion, not by being sincere, or by some special ceremony, but by faith in the One who embodies all truth – Jesus
HERE IS WHAT YOU MUST DO
BELIEVE Jesus Christ is the Promised Savior Luke 2:11
He is perfect: fully God, fully man Hebrews 1:5-8
His death provided complete payment for your sin debt Hebrews 9:22
He offers to be your substitute 2 Corinthians 5:21
In fact, God’s word tells us that, “Christ died that we might live with Him.” 1 Thessalonians 5:10
We have called this the “great exchange” – where Jesus willingly substitutes his own perfect life record for our sinful life record.
IF YOU AGREE WITH GOD
That you are a sinner & hopeless without His Son, Jesus. Your prayer is as simple as telling Him you no longer want to live for yourself or carry the guilt for your choices anymore. Ask Him for His forgiveness. Then…CONFESS. Tell Him you understand these truths from His word, that you believe it, and that you are asking for Jesus’ sacrifice to count for you. Confess to Him and then to others: Jesus is my Lord and Savior. I commit to following you, Jesus, from now on. Romans 10:9-10, 13; Acts 2:38-39
IF YOU AGREE
If you agree with the Scriptures concerning Jesus, then you can say such a prayer at any time, but we would encourage you not to wait. We’d also encourage you to ask someone from our church to talk with you more about this, or come see us, so we can talk further. If you believe, repent, and confess, then you will be included with those who are no longer God’s enemies. Instead you will be part of a much larger family – God’s family! Your next step is to make sure you come to meet those other family members so they can help you develop your new relationship with Jesus.
